Day 3 of 30
So you’ve made the decision to start your bead jewelry business.
Congratulations! You’ve determined your reason big enough and you are ready to start. Or are you?
Over the next few days I’ll talk about things you need to have in place before you start your bead jewelry business that will make it easier for you as time goes on.
We all do so much better when we have someone that we are accountable to. In this post I’d like to talk about some ways that you can generate accountability in your business.
First, get yourself a support group. Maybe it’s your family or friends. Or perhaps you know other bead jewelry artists that are also looking to start their business.
The biggest advice I would give is to surround yourself with people that you know will support you. Beware of the “dreamstealers”; people who tell you it’s too hard or can give you many different reasons why you won’t be able to start your own bead jewelry business.
Starting your own business when you have never done it before can be tricky so surround yourself with people that believe that you can do it and will encourage you to keep going even when times get tough.
I’ve been involved in mastermind groups throughout my career and various business ventures, and I can vouch that it is one of the biggest factors in my success today.
There is something about being in a mastermind group that always helps me to raise my game. I believe that a good mastermind group consists of people that are better at certain tasks and weak in other areas so the overall effect is that everyone’s game gets lifted to the same standard, especially where there is a good dose of healthy competition.
Finding a business mentor is another way to generate accountability in your business. A good business mentor will find out where you want to be and help you to determine a clear path to follow so you can achieve success. Find a mentor who you click with and has achieved the success that you want to emulate. A mentor doesn’t necessarily give you the answers, their job is to help you find the path that you were meant to be on.
